We remember Christmas of long ago…
Frosty days and ice-still nights, Fir trees trimmed with tiny lights. Sound of sleigh bells in the snow, That was Christmas long ago.
A time, when by the tree, the children watch so eagerly. As shining bells are put in place, and wonder fills each tiny face. The delicious fragrance in the air of roasting turkey and mince pies, and cookies everywhere. dreaming of days that used to be, when we hid present for all the family. Stocking hanging in a row, Sugarplums and candle glow, Part of Christmas long ago.
Starry nights so still and blue, good friends calling out to you. when amidst the candlelight, The choir begins, “Oh, Holy Night”. Life will always slow…
For dreams of Christmas long ago.
A shelter from the winter storm, a straw-lined manger safe and warm. Mary crooning lullabies, to hush her baby’s sleepy sighs. The angels proclaim for all to know, Tells of Christmas long ago
I will honor Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year. And may God bless us everyone.
